OUR STORY
Born from the
Colours
of the African Plains
Noonkipa Collections was born out of a deep love for Africa's rich textile heritage. Our name - Noonkipa - is a Maasai word meaning "the thread that binds." We believe that every handwoven piece carries a story, a community, and a legacy worth sharing with the world
“I wanted the world to feel what I feel every time I hold a Kikoy — warmth, colour, and the hands of the people who made it.”

BRAND STORY
Threads of
Tradition,
Woven into Every Piece

The Kikoy towel has been part of East African coastal culture for centuries — draped over shoulders at the market, spread on beaches, gifted at celebrations. It is more than a towel; it is a cultural statement.

At Noonkipa Collections, we source every Kikoy directly from artisan weavers in Kenya, ensuring that each piece retains its authentic character. The bold stripes, the vibrant dyes, the hand‑knotted fringe — nothing is mass‑produced. Everything is intentional.

Our mission is simple: bring the beauty of African handcraft into homes around the world, while keeping the livelihoods of our artisan partners at the heart of everything we do.

Handmade Always
Every towel, sarongs, and accessory is crafted by hand. We will never compromise on the human touch that makes each piece unique.
